Adult Sunday School Classes
A Study of the Gospel
of Mark
The Book of Mark is considered by many the earliest of the gospels and the life
of Christ. Join us as we look deeper into the life of our Lord while he was
here on earth. Class is facilitated by Wally Benham and meets in the conference
room at 9:30 am on Sunday mornings.
“The
Seasons of a Restless Heart”
This series of classes
will take us through the end of our Adult CE elective offerings for this year.
Written by Debra K. Farrington, teacher and publisher for Morehouse Publishing,
we will explore with the author, “life’s journey filled with countless
beginnings, endings, and times of transition.”
Following the Biblical
story of the Israelites’ journey through the wilderness before they reached
the Promised Land, our discussions will focus on those “In-Between”
times in our lives when we are in transition. How are we to live faithfully
in those “restless seasons” of our lives whether they be: a chronic
illness, moving one’s family to accept a new promising career opportunity,
becoming an empty nester, becoming single again; the list of “transitions”
is never-ending.
Where is God when we are in the transitions? How can we grow spiritually during the wilderness times? With intriguing chapter headings: The Restless Season; Restlessness and Creativity; Help!; Eat, Sleep, Bend, and Stretch; Are We There Yet?; You Put Your Right Foot In, You Put Your Right Foot Out; and Home Again; “The Seasons of a Restless Heart” offers a deeply spiritual approach to times of transition, giving us the opportunity to re-create and renew ourselves and become more fully what God calls us to be.
These classes, facilitated
by Pastor Lees will begin on Sunday, May 6 and conclude on Sunday, June 10/17.
