So Others Might Eat Ministry (SOME)
Kirkwood volunteers meet regularly to make and deliver sandwiches to SOME (So Others Might Eat), a Washington, DC, interfaith, community-based organization to help the poor and homeless of our nation's capital. SOME works to meet the immediate daily needs of needy adults and children with food, clothing, and health care. It helps break the cycle of homelessness by offering services, such as affordable housing, job training, addiction treatment, and counseling, to the poor, the elderly and individuals with mental illness. Volunteers meet in the Fellowship Hall right after the 11 am Worship Service on the 3rd Sunday of the month starting in January. See below for the 2012 dates.
